Goals For 2017

With the start of University, exams and life in general, I have been too busy (and ill!) to share with you my goals for 2017, but here I am today and very excited to be taking to you! I am not big on resolutions but I am definitely a fan of sitting down and reflecting on what we want to accomplish and do…even if they seem small or perhaps silly. I divided my goals and things I want to achieve into categories. ➭ Health – To be raw vegan for 3 days. Include more raw meals in my diet. Start taking Omega 3. Take better care of my skin. ➭ Travel – Go to France and Germany (at least!) ➭Hobbies – To read more. Meditate regularly. Stop watching so much Netflix! ➭ Love – To cultivate self-love. To spend more time with myself for myself. To become better at expressing love. ➭ Food – Make (vegan) sushi at home. Make my own pad thai. Go to a Thai restaurant. ➭ For fun – Go to the vintage cinema in Nottingham. Go to a ice hockey …

What I Ate In Morocco {Vegan}

As a very passionate vegan and food lover, I was very excited to go to Morocco to find out what it would be like to be vegan in a completely different culture compared to Europe. Overall, it was quite easy specially because we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and they always had a vegetarian option. Breakfast Breakfast always started with a massive pile of amazing watermelon. This was honestly the best watermelon I have ever had! Morocco has the biggest watermelons I have ever seen in my life – I’m obsessed. I also always had bread, lots of, with jam (fig and strawberry jam) and honey. Occasionally they would make some traditional pancakes that happened to be vegan and really delicious. Another breakfast essential, their traditional mint tea which was gorgeous. Lunch I didn’t usually have morning snacks cause I ate so much for breakfast. For lunch we would either eat out in a restaurant or eat food we bought in the markets. There weren’t any shops in Morocco (like Tescos, M&S, etc.), we could …

April 2016 {Recap}

April was a strange month. I had a lot of highs and lows. The weather was strange…really hot than snowing. I had the most chilled days ever and the most busy and crazy days. Beside all these things, it was a great month! I felt focused and motivated to get all my course work done – I intend to bring that into May! But let’s talk about April: 1. Portugal! – I went to beautiful Portugal for about a week and had the best time ever! I had an amazing time with my friends, family! Had a sleepover, a lot of coffee, amazing amazing fruit, I completely burnt my face, went to the coolest pub…everything was perfect.   2. Back to School – Okay, this might not sound like the most exciting thing, however, this is my last term of school! EVER! It feels unreal. I can not describe how much course work I have to do..but once I finish – which I will by the end of May – I am all DONE! As you can tell, …

March 2016 {Recap}

Hello lovelies! It’s the end of another month, so that means it is time to look back and appreciate all the amazing things that happened during the past month. I am currently drinking a beautiful cut of coffee, I would suggest you grab yourself one and enjoy this post. 1. Got new glasses: yes, I wear glasses. For the last couple of months I noticed my eyes were getting worst, went to the optician and I to get myself a new pair. Very pleased with them. They are comfortable, I don’t have headaches anymore and they add to my not so cool style. 2. Friiiiends: I had the best time with my friends this month! Went out to eat and drinks a couple of times and they were the best nights evaaar. This year I feel like I’ve surrounded myself with such an amazing group of people…all different in their own way yet we work so well together. I am very grateful for all the crazy dancing and singing. 3. Featured in another blog: one of my favourite bloggers …

February 2016 {Recap}

Hello Hello! Another month has come to an end so it is time for another monthly recap. Overall I think February was a really good month! I felt amazing throughout the entire month even though I was very busy. Very pleased and grateful with everything I got to do. 1. New Bag – I have been wanting a new gym bag for ages! And I finally got my dream bag from Lululemon and I am absolutely in love. It was a bit pricy but totally worth it for me. I can say this bag changed my life haha 2. Basketball – I love watching basketball games and this month I got to watch a few games so I am very happy about that. It is always so much fun to watch games with my friends. Had a brilliant time. 3. London – I went to London with my boyfriend. I did an entire post dedicated to all our adventures, just click here. I had an amazing time and am so grateful for how fortunate we are. 4. Pull Up – One of my …

January 2016 {Recap}

I hate to admit it but I am awful at remembering the amazing things I do and experiences I have in my everyday life. I’ve tried to overcome this by writing stuff down…Every time something ‘special’ happened I would write it on a piece of paper and put in a a little jar. Guess what..that didn’t work for me. So I thought I would recap my months here on the blog. That way you know what I’ve been up to and it is a good way for me to keep track and reflect about the things that happened in my life. Let’s start then! 1. I hit a squat PR (personal record) for more reps of 60kg squats. It might not seem like a lot but it was an amazing way to start the year and I was super proud of myself. Slowly getting stronger! 2. I made cookies by myself for the first time ever! It was a very simple and quick recipe for vegan chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious! I was very impressed. I will definitely attempt …

Turkey Diary #3 | Last Day Nostalgia

29/10/15  “So today is the day. The day we say goodbye to the sunshine, the mountains, the fruit and the lovely tea. We also have to say goodbye to our neighbor whose warm heart received us since our first day here. It was an honor to share a cup of Çayi (tea) with her, it goes to show that language should never be an excuse to not communicate with other beautiful people. Her amazing smile, constant positive energy and google translate made our evening perfect and a moment I will always treasure. I just hope one day the sounds coming out of her mouth make sense in my head and we no longer have to use google translate…I know for a fact that would make her extremely happy. We are at the airport now in Antalya waiting for our flight to Istanbul. I got a flat white with soya milk, as usual…as soon as I get to England everything will be back to ‘the usual’. I will get the usual bus to school, go to the usual gym, worry …

Turkey Diary #2 | Being an Outcast

26/10/15 “We missed the bus to the waterfall. The famous Kursunlu Waterfall in the natural park of Antalya. I can not wait to get there. It has been a long journey…we already got a bus for 40 mins, a tram and now we have to wait half an hour for our next bus which will take about one hour to get to the natural park.  It is quite surreal being here, sitting on this bench. I have the feeling everyone is wondering why I am writing and why is Lucia reading. It feels like everything we do is abnormal in the eyes for the people around us, even just the way we look. In the beginning it was strange…being looked at, being an outcast but now we are used to it…sort of. People still look at us, they still think twice before sitting next to us on the bus and question everything we do and how we look but as we come to understand their culture and even a little bit of their language we …

Turkey Dairy #1 | Almost there!

22/10/15 “I am currently on the biggest plane I’ve ever been on. In one hour we will arrive in Antalya and even though I am exhausted I can not miss this opportunity to write. I love traveling and so far this has been an amazing adventure. In fact the last 3 days have been pretty great. I arrived in Hamburg on the 19th and since then my days have been filled with friends, stunning views, long chats and lovely food…what else can I girl ask for? If 3 years ago someone told me I would come to Istanbul and Antalya with two amazing and beautiful German girls I would have told them they were mad. In the last few years I’ve done so many things I never thought I would ever do. To be honest I often find myself wondering how I ended up here…in this beautiful life – no I am not naive and think that everything in life is beautiful and amazing but I love to love life and be grateful and appreciative.  …
