Time Off

The end of May and beginning of June were quite stressful! I had a lot of exams, long revisions sessions plus a bunch of other things happened. I started a new part-time job, got a position at my University’s sport committee and even had to go to a job training weekend in London (that was long). I love being a busy person. I feel like I thrive when I have clear goals and tasks to achieve. My weekly schedule was my most precious thing during this period. With 6am starts I managed to workout pretty much everyday, post 2 articles on the blog a week, revise 8 hours a day, do a couple of shifts at work and end my day watching Prison Break with my flat mates. When I finished my exams and finally managed to stop for a bit…I was exhausted. I was absolutely drained. My mind was restless, always looking for the next thing to do. I couldn’t remember the last time I slept later than 8am or not followed a weekly …

May Favourites 2017

May has been an absolutely crazy month. In between revision and exams I have been ill, got a new part-time job, got elected for a position in my University’s student union, got hit by a cricket ball, ate delicious food, spent a lot of time in the library and continued to have a small caffeine addiction. But here are my favourites… To Eat Raw Meals – Since I got a really big shop this month – Big Vegan Food Shop – I had a lot of veggies and fruit that needed to be eaten. My favourite thing has definitely been raw dinners. I had a massive colourful salad for dinner every night for about a week which was super delicious and filling! As I mentioned in my “3 Simple Ways You Can Be Healthier This Spring”, I love eating raw foods as they are so yuumy, hydrating and packed full of goodness. I have been eating at least one raw meal a day (sometimes 2 breakfast and dinner). Makes me feel so guuud and vibrant. But now I ran …

March Favourites 2017

This month absolutely flew by. A lot of things come to my mind when I think about March: grey rainy days, nights with crazy friends, pub nights, slow mornings, HIIT workouts, lots of dancing, volleyball and lovely human beings. To Eat Lasagne – I’ve definitely been trying to be more adventurous in the kitchen. Lasagne is my new project and I am obsessed! It is so warming and creamy. As soon as I have a good recipe down to perfection you will be the first ones to know. Raw cocoa power – so good in smoothies, porridge and hot chocolate. Don’t be mistaken, it is not sweet like chocolate, it is quite bitter which I actually love, but when mixed with dates, bananas or sugar it tastes super delicious. Black coffee – this month involved a lot of coffee, black coffee. I love to enjoy a good cup of coffee in a nice cafe. Nottingham has great spots. But there is also nothing better than getting home, making a cup of coffee and relax… To …

Snaps Of My Life #2

Hello beautiful. It has been a while…I’ve missed writing and I’ve missed you. Following the first Snaps of My Life I did last month, I thought it would be nice to once again share with you guys have I have been up to and feeling. January 1st…my first day in 2017 couldn’t have been better. Coffee in bed, warm covers and a handful of movies with my little sunshine. I never fully felt like my flat at Uni was my home, but after being away for one month, coming back was the best feeling ever! Having my room, seeing my gorgeous flat mates, the messy kitchen, the constant pile of dishes to wash…it felt like being back home. Here is where I feel the most comfortable and weird. Being back at Uni meant exams (!!). It was a stressful for week but I am really happy with my results. Now we resume with the normal schedule: lectures, labs, course work, early mornings and coffee. I am definitely not complaining here, I love my course and love to …

Goals For 2017

With the start of University, exams and life in general, I have been too busy (and ill!) to share with you my goals for 2017, but here I am today and very excited to be taking to you! I am not big on resolutions but I am definitely a fan of sitting down and reflecting on what we want to accomplish and do…even if they seem small or perhaps silly. I divided my goals and things I want to achieve into categories. ➭ Health – To be raw vegan for 3 days. Include more raw meals in my diet. Start taking Omega 3. Take better care of my skin. ➭ Travel – Go to France and Germany (at least!) ➭Hobbies – To read more. Meditate regularly. Stop watching so much Netflix! ➭ Love – To cultivate self-love. To spend more time with myself for myself. To become better at expressing love. ➭ Food – Make (vegan) sushi at home. Make my own pad thai. Go to a Thai restaurant. ➭ For fun – Go to the vintage cinema in Nottingham. Go to a ice hockey …

Dear 2016

Last post of the year! It seemed appropriate to reflect on this past year and share my thoughts with you. Here it is, my year (or the bits I can remember) and why I loved it so much. Education In the beginning of 2016 I was in my last year of Sixth Form. It was by far the best year of high school, I had such a great time with my girl gang, did really well in sport and finished with excellent grades. I got multiple Uni offers and after a lot of paper work, I made it into University! Since September I am officially a Sport and Exercise Science student at Nottingham Trent and absolutely love it! I can not wait to continue my degree and make the most out of it. Travel This year I was able to visit my family in Portugal three times (In April, July and December) which was amazing and I am so grateful to be able to see my friends and family that often. I also absolutely love Portugal – it is so beautiful! …

Snaps Of My Life

My life has changed a bit lately. I have finished my first term of University. The first term of my degree. Scary. I got on a plane a few days ago and came to Portugal for two weeks. I am so grateful to be here and spending the Christmas holidays with my family. This flight was one of the most beautiful flights ever, I had to chance to see the sunset whilst we approached Lisbon and saw the beautiful city lights over the river…so stunning. Every time I come to Portugal I fall in love with the delicious fruit. Even common fruits such as bananas are 10 times better in Portugal. It makes so ridiculously happy! Although it is winter the abundance of gorgeous fruit is amazing. Lisbon, beautiful Lisbon, I am back. And it feels so good! I love Lisbon so much, I love being here, walking through these magical streets. The streets look stunning with all the Christmas light and everyone is snuggled in their big coats, scarfs and hats. So good to be home. Alway …
