I love food, we all know that by now, however, when I am in Portugal I love food eeeeven more! Why? The wonderful fresh fruit and veg! The delicious bread and jam! The olives and most importantly…the coffee.
Breakfast – a bit of an unusual breakfast, I usually have porridge, but this morning I had some fruit as I wanted something fresh and hydrating. Also had a big cup of tea to feel cozy.
Lunch – had a lovely lunch with my family at a very traditional Portuguese restaurant by the beach. To start with we had the classic bread, cheese and olives. Obviously I skipped the cheese and had some slices of bread and olives (so good!). As a main I had a veggie mix, loads of broccoli, mushrooms, tomato and even pineapple. I had that with a side salad. Very yuummy!
Snack – cheeky afternoon snack is a massive fruit platter. One mango, one pear, one banana, one persimmon and half a melon. Whenever I am in Portugal (and as you can tell by this post) I love to eat loads of fruit!! The mangos are exceptionally good.
Dinner – usually mum cooks, however tonight I made myself one of my classic dinners: potato and sweet potato chips with a veggie mix and lettuce. Some of the veggies included kale, spinach, mushrooms, onion, carrots and peppers. Simple yet delicious!
Besides eating this I think I had about 2 espressos, one in the morning and after lunch (very Portuguese of me). I hope you enjoyed seeing what I eat as a Vegan in a country where meat and fish are very much the main foods. Thank you so much for reading. Lots of love,
