My Morning Runs

7.45 am – Time to wake up! Got up, had two big glasses of water and one pear. I always make sure I drink a good amount of water after I wake up, specially when I go for a run. I then got dressed and did all that fun stuff.

Due to the fresh 5C outside, my outfit choice included two thermals and a wind proof jacket. I do regret not taking gloves but I try to avoid them at all cost…

8.00 am – I am out! I hate taking ages getting ready for a morning run. I like to wake up and just go outside and feel the fresh air otherwise it might be tempting to just stay home.

As soon as got to the beach I stopped to admire its beauty. It was only me there. It was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could share with you the sound of the waves…

For me morning runs are almost like a way of meditation. I really do believe that there is something special about feeling the morning fresh hair, moving your body, listening to your heart beat and your lungs filling with air. It is about waking up and seeing the world, exploring new (or old) paths, shaking off the blues and get your hair messy.

Mind: like I mentioned previously, the “morning run” is not just about running. It is about clearing your mind, finding quiet and peace. I love morning runs because I don’t have to worry about my time, speed or technique – even though I obviously make sure I have a nice posture. For me this is very important as it reminds me why I run in the first place, because I love it and not just focus on my athletics performance. Being able to stop whenever I want to admire the beauty around me and be with myself is truly magical. It is a great way to start off the day with mind space, clarity and mindfulness .

Body: I love moving my body first thing in the morning. As you tend to be a bit stiff from sleeping, this is a great way to connect with your body and do what it feels right. Walk if you want, jog, run, jump or even sprint…do whatever your body desires. I try to be very conscious about my breath, but not try to control it in any way (like I normally would), just appreciate the feelin of my body moving and the air filling my lungs.

I always stretch and do a bit of yoga – usually try to focous on movements to open up the chest. Although I didn’t have much time today as I started to freeze so I had to go back to running.

I am not an expert but I truely hope that this post inspired you to move your beautiful body, shake all the bad energies and fill your body with fresh air. Thank you for reading babes. Lots of love,

Ines x
